FIRE ISLAND, NY

An island divided in two by hurricane Sandy, split into small havens of weathered mansions by the water. With an endearing lack of vehicles on the island, sitting by the waterfront restaurants and watching the anchored boats rock in the tide while beach cruisers pass by can fill up hours in a day. The ten-minute walk from one side of the island to the other is only interrupted by deer scampering across backyards to eat berries off the trees.

Throughout this area of Fire Island Pines, you will find most of its (pre-dominantly male) inhabitants socialising in the open front gyms, sipping cocktails at the waterfront bars and strolling hand in hand towards the sunset on the beaches.
